Tree of Lights Sympathy Card

When someone's loved one passes away and they do not have a special charity for donations I like to create an "In Memory of" donation for a specific charity I like. It is called the Tree of Lights and the money goes for many causes in the community. The problem is that the Tree of Lights runs during the holiday season and I want to let my friend know now that I will be doing this at the end of the year. So, I chose to make a sympathy card to mail now and will make the donation at the appropriate time of year.

Other Resources Used: I wanted a close up picture of Christmas tree lights, and didn't have one myself. I bought one
from StockXpert. First time I had actually bought a picture.

I also needed a quote for the inside of the card and had found one earlier from an e-book I bought when I was planning
my Dad's funeral. I liked the quote a lot:

Perhaps they are not the stars,
But rather openings in heaven where
The love of our lost ones pours through
And shines down upon us to let us know
They are happy

How I put the project together:
The software with Shutterfly offered a generic card with full picture on the front.
Front Cover: I chose that as my layout and used the picture that I had bought from StockXpert.
Inside Left: There was an option of putting a personal message on the inside left page, but I chose to leave that
blank so I could personalize it by hand.
Inside Right: On the ride inside page I put the quote from above. I then also put the following saying on the
bottom part of the right-had side:

A donation will be made for the Oakwood Hospital Tree of Lights. This donation will benefit many programs
in the community.

I bought two of these cards because I wanted to have another on hand. I was happy with this because I could support
my charity while providing a sympathy card at the same time.

Results: I was really happy to have this to mail and now I have another to use if I need it.
