PRINTER PROFILES
Before your file is actually printed, it goes through an algorithm,
called a PRINTER PROFILE, which determines how to separate your file into exactly how much of each ink, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and blacK to use to print the information stored in each pixel of your file and even if your file is already CMYK! Can anyone verify this?
There exist many standard profiles, but the printer will use only one. Knowing exactly which one can help you know how to prepare your files for print.
I ask anyone who has any of this information to make it available on this site. Maybe we can generate a list.
My color bar book sorely depends on it. I don't have enough money for trial and error. A related but DIFFERENT question is, does the printer use or ignore a COLORSPACE PROFILE embedded in your file?
