Getting Free Bonus Picaboo Backgrounds
Want even more backgrounds for your photo book than the options provided in the Picabook software itself? There are three ways you can get more backgrounds than those that show up in the software when you first open it. They are:
- Adding new Backgrouds from the Idea Center area
- Browsing user-created backgrounds in Picaboo Backgrounds
- Adding one of your own pictures or creations as a page background
1. Get New Backgrounds from the Idea Center

For different events, occassions, and holidays. If you click on Backgrounds, you are given a selection of popular backgrounds for that occassion (like Christmas, birthdays, weddings, travel, etc.).
2. Browse User-Created Backgrounds in Picaboo Backgrounds
But in Picaboo backgrounds, you have access to more than just the suggested backgrounds... there are thousands more.These backgrounds are organized in many different ways and you have such a wide variety of choices. The search function is great, so have fun and play around with it!
3. Add Your own Pictures as a Background
You can also add your own photos or digital creations as a Picaboo background! Simply upload the photo into your Picaboo software, and drag and drop it into the background. Easy as could be.And get creative with this! You can use photos of people or places... or take photo of interesting colors or shapes to use as artistic photo book backgrounds. Have fun with it!
Adding a New Background to Your Software
Once you find a background you love, here is how you get it into your book:
If You Use Internet Explorer:
- Click on the theme you like.
- Click on a specific background you'd like to use. This will take you to a page where the background has a higher resolution.
- With Picaboo X software open, drag and drop the background into the page where you want it. Done!
If You Use Firefox:
- Click on the theme you like.
- Click on a specific background you'd like to use.
- Right click on the image and choose "Save Picture As"
- Use the option to rename the jpeg if desired and choose where you want it to be saved.
- To use it as a background in Picaboo you need to add the jpeg as a picture to be used in your book and you can drag it onto the background.
