What's the Best Photo Management Software?
My Experience with Photo Mangement SoftwareTo test which was the best photo management software on the market, I used roughly 3,000 pictures that I took with my film camera from 1972 until the present. I took 350 pictures from one vacation this year, and used different software to test each one's ease of use.
Note:Each type of photo management software reviewed below is listed by its photo management or photo organizing ability-- not for its ability to edit your photos, which many free programs can do for you. Though many of the best photo organizing software programs do contain some basic photo editing capabilities.

PicajetPicajet is a digital photo management system and image cataloging software that has a bunch of neat features for the picture junkie who can't take enough pictures as well as the occasional photographer.Picajet features and benefits are: The software includes a photo editor with levels, sharpen, sepia, and red-eye removal. My favorite feature is the offline-archive organization where you can back up your photos to a CD or DVD. A thumbnail of your picture remains on your computer. When you click on this thumbnail it will tell you which CD or DVD to use to find the picture.Cost: $47.95
Picasa 3As far as it goes, Picasa is the best photo management software for the price: because it's a free software download from Google. Picasa will help you: Picasa also gives you the ability to edit your pictures. There are basic fixes and 12 new visual effects you can apply. A handy feature is the ability to write captions that stay with the picture. You can also make a slide show to share your pictures.
