My Publisher
I made 2 photobooks - landscape only (years 2006 and 2007). Cheapest and fastest to use of the three. Image quality and pages not the best. Easy program. No hard cover. Only 8 fonts type. You cannot made your own design of photo´s and text position on the pages. Only pre-designed pages and book´s style. I rated 5/10.

Digilabs (years 2007, 2008 and 2009)
I made 3 photobooks in portrait. The best of Digilabs Asbhury Book´s type with Layflat Paper which it´s the only photobook finish which has it. Excellent image quality and pages. Hard cover. Use any fonts from your windows´ program. You can made your own design of photos and text in the album. Most expensive. Pre-designed layout pages and book´s style. I rated 9/10.

Smilebooks (year 2009)
I made 1 photobook portrait of 11 x 14", but I haven´t received it yet. Hard cover. Use any fonts from your windows´ program. You can make your own design of photos and text in the album. You can place a 1/2, 1/3 or any size of a photo or text wherever you want in 2 consecutives pages. Example:1/3 of a photo in one page and 2/3 on the next consecutive page (Digilabs does not allow this). Most complete and best photobook program of the three. Excellent editing of photo. Pre-designed pages and book´s style. Excellent layout of pages. I rated so far 10/10.

MyPublisher review
by: Liz

I have ordered photo books from Shutterfly, Inkubook, and MyPublisher. All three offer great products, but my favorite for print quality would be MyPublisher. With Shutterfly, I noticed just a little bit of grain in each image. The color was off slightly because of the auto Vivid pic feature that I did not know existed until after I received the book. The covers were great, as well as the paper weight. I also loved the Shutterfly online community offering endless examples for inspiration. One of the best features of Shutterfly is the great selection of shapes and sizes of books offered. There is also a large number of layouts for each page.

Inkubook offers the best value for pages per price. There is absolutely no grain in any of the images in the books that I made. Compared to Shutterfly the Inkubook paper seems slightly less substantial and more matte. I like more of a sheen or gloss... so I felt that my images were a little dull. Inkubook does not offer spine printing, and that is a bummer for me.

MyPublisher is my favorite. The only con with MP is the lack of variety of sizes and shapes. THey only offer three sizes. I love square and portrait books and they only offer landscape. Other than that I love the quality. The images are represented better than with the other two companies that I tried. THe pages are thick and have more of a gloss. They remind me of high quality magazine paper. They made my images look absolutely great. No grain and the colors were wonderful. I loved the weight and feel of the book. It felt like a higher quality book. The cover was surprising to me. It is matte and took me awhile to get used to, but the texture only adds to the quality of the book.

Overall you pay for what you get and I do not mind paying a little more for better print quality which you get with MyPublisher.

Hi Mario, I liked your review of the 3 photo books. However, I would like to know more about your photo books printed quality which I think is important in order to make a photo book.
Thank you,
