I was initially very excited when I came across Mixbook.com due to the easy to use software and versatility they offer; however, when I received my order of photobooks I was extremely disappointed.

The albums I created were of my wedding to give to all of our family members for Christmas, and I had used the HD high quality pictures from our photographer in the books. The books were printed of such low quality that our beautfiul, professsional pictures came out very grainy.

Furthermore, after I spent hours reviewing and perfecting all of my layouts, many of them were altered in print and there was a random textbox that appeared on the cover of 2 of my books.

I contacted them immediately upon receiving the books, and it took over a week of emails back and forth before they finally conceded to refunding my money. There is no phone number listed to contact them, and the only option is via email.

If you are only looking for a photobook to have online to share, then this site might be okay for you; however, proceed with extreme caution before placing an order for a photobook from this company. I sent them several pictures of the grainy photos and they told me they did not see anything wrong with the pictures. Look at the above picture and judge for yourself!

Creative Memories
by: Anonymous

I have not used this product but The Creative Memories 3.0 software is unbelievably AWESOME. However, I order my books through Smilebooks and love the 'lay flat' binding they offer when printing on photo paper. Even their digital paper books are nice, 100-135# paper and as long as they are good pics you are using it looks pretty darn good. The photo paper books though, which hold up to 82 pages is just the best yet that I've seen. I just create in the CM software, save as jpegs and drop and fill in Smilebooks software to print.

Mixbook picture quality low
by: Anonymous

I have done a few books in mixbook but I agree that the photos come back grainy and muddy -- yet their stickers and backgrounds are clear and crisp. I have also used Snapfish and my pictures look great when I use them but Mixbook has so many more options/features that I really want to use them.

I have spent hours trying to find another photobook company that is like Mixbook but has better quality. Has anyone used the Creative memories or the Memory Suite products?

Book Ratings Not Catching Low Quality
by: paul Whealy

Why does a review saying that the book's quality was terrible list it with 5 stars?

did you scan the photographer's photos?
Most professional photographers use a subtle texture so that if a customer tries to scan the photos, the quality will be greatly diminished.

Maybe thats what happened...

I loved inkubook
by: Anonymous

Based off personal experience I would try Inkubook if I were you.

I purchased a couple of books for Christmas presents for my mother in law and my mom. I took all the photos that are in the book from my 3.2 MPX camera and there was no grainy pictures in my book even though I did full bleed on some pages. My mother in law and my mom absolutely loved the books.

When I received them in the mail I flipped through every page of both books and they were perfect! I have heard bad stories for almost all the photobook companies but chose inkubook. The sale was 30% off so I purchased two hardcover books 8.5x11 at 88 pages each. The software was easy to use and the real book looked just like the screen. Plus I shared my book on Facebook so anyone could flip through a miniature version that also looks like the real book. I found the company to use from now on.
