Losing Your Pictures

It is important to have a back-up of all your digital photos. I recently had a short in my computer and would have lost everything on it if I had not backed up my photos. So, there are several ways you can make sure your digital photos are safe.
There are two places you can save your pictures. You can save them locally on your computer, or have all of them uploaded to a secure site. My opinion is that you do everything you can to make sure you don't lose your pictures. Upload the pix you want for sure, and then save all of your pictures to an external source. I use an external hard drive for this.
You know the old saying "Don't put all your eggs in one basket", well, you also need to make sure you don't put all your baskets in the same cart --meaning if all your pictures are in your house, they are still a little bit at risk. Your external hard drive could fail (I have had that happen) or something worse. So all of my pictures are backed up on my son's computer at his house and I have a backup of all of his important files.
With a little foresight, you can make sure that you will be enjoying your digital photos for years to come!
