Make Your Own Photobooks

Hoorray Photo Book Publisher Review

Hoorray shut down their website in June, 2009 and relaunched their website in the middle of July. The new site is fully functional, and any references to what you used to do with Hoorray should be deleted from your memory because they are a different photo book printer with different software. This photo book review is based on the new photo book software Hoorray 2.0.

The 2.0 software is very intuitive and easy to use. The photo upload feature was quick and simple and did not require a software download to operate (which does occur with many other publishers). You can add pictures from your computer or from photos that have been previously uploaded. The photos appear in a photo tray and were very manageable when making your book. In the past this was not the case.

Hoorray is a good choice for someone who wants to make a book without making a lot of design choices. Although there are a lot of different layout choices available for any book, you are limited to choosing from a group of backgrounds that are designed for your chosen book theme. A "Designer Line" of books that have been designed by well-known digital scrapbookers gives you more them choices.

My main comment is that your pictures do not automatically resize for the layout you choose. You need to go in and manually increase the size of the picture to fit the layout. This give you a bit more control over how much you really want to increase the photo size, but it can be a little tiresome for the average user.

At this point in time there is little Help available. There are some FAQ's and basic instructions, but it will be interesting if other forms of Help will be introduced. This is one photo book printer to keep an eye on.
