Make Your Own Photobooks

Following Scrapblogging Adventures in Real Time

I've subscribed to your blog. Thank you for your great, detailed info.!

I'm planning to move from paper to digital scrapbooking. Also, I'd like to work in a blog format so that family members can easily subscribe to my RSS feed and follow our adventures in real time. Thank you for your recommendation of the Scrapblog site. However, I see that they've just begun to charge for many templates that were previously free. Do you know of any competitors of theirs whom I might want to consider or is their scrap and blog concept truly unique? Thank you very much!

Alternative to Scrapblog
by: Linda

Jen:

Scrapblog is a bit different than most other publishers. Their variety of designs can be matched by several publishers. The part that cannot quite be matched is the blog portion.

There are sites that do offer a webpage. Shutterfly has what they call a Share Page and that allows you to create a very smart looking page where you can share pictures, embed a photo book, create a list of links, and even collaborate on projects. I must admit that I have a Share Page myself, but have never looked at all the functionality in the page. I am quite impressed! Create a Share site or add photos to your site to get free prints. Get started today! Expires 2.13.09.

Smilebox
is not currently listed under our publisher section, although you can make great books from their site. You can also easily create shorter projects than books, and their cards are great. When you complete a project you can post it to a blog, email it to a friend, print it at home, or even burn it to a DVD. The projects are free if you are willing to see ads on your project. Otherwise you can buy a membership or pay per project if you aren't going to make many that you mind having ads.

Hope this helps!
