Create a "Find The" Book for Your ToddlerCreate a photo book using a favorite toy or stuffed animal as the central theme in each picture. Toddlers love seeing pictures of familiar objects such as their family members, stuffed animals, and their house displayed in a book that they can look through together with their parents. What would be even more fun is to help create that book by choosing locations and hiding spots for the hidden item.To create your "Find the" book, you first need to choose a familiar or favorite item to feature in your book. You can choose a favorite item (for the purpose of this article we'll pretend that you chose a doll) that would show well in pictures or borrow one from someone else. Once you have chosen the perfect doll, walk around your house, yard, neighborhood, or park and take pictures of the doll hiding in various places. For example, the doll might peek out of your child's laundry hamper, hide on top of the refrigerator in the kitchen, or sneak behind a potted plant in the garden. When you are taking your pictures, zoom out so that the finished photo shows the entire scene and is fairly busy. This will make it more challenging to "find the doll." Once you have finished taking your photos, add them to a new book in with your favorite photo book publisher. Arrange the photos throughout your child's book. You may want to include a brief storyline about the doll and how she happens to show up all around the house or neighborhood. When you are finished with your book, order a hardbound copy to share with you child time and time again. It is bound to be one of their favorite books!
