dotPhoto Photo Book Review

dotPhoto! recently added EuroBooks to its offerings. They have gone from a photo book printer without much to offer to one who has a lot to offer. They have increased the number of book sizes and kinds of covers, and they now also offer a greater variety in backgrounds and layouts.

The photo book review that is included on this website is for the EuroBooks only. dotPhoto! still offers a photo book that they call a "yearbook". The review for that product and software would be completely different than the EuroBooks software review.

The Eurobooks software is now downloaded onto your desktop in a somewhat lengthy installation process. It also takes up a fairly sizable 581 MB on your hard drive. Since the software is now on your desktop it is not as easy to use the pictures that you have already uploaded to their site. They do have a button that will help you download pictures and text off the internet, so you could actually use photos that are in your Flickr account too. The software is fairly sophisticated - it even has an "Automatic Image Correction" that makes the corrections as you add photos.

Within the past year dotPhoto has been bought out by MyPhotoAlbum. We do not review MyPhotoAlbum because they require a $20 membership or a minimum purchase. Although other sites do require a minimum yearly purchase, the MyPhotoAlbum requirements were restrictive. They do not appear to make the same requirement for dotPhoto.
