3Tips for an Easy Record Book
Fortunately, you can avoid this. And with a couple suggestions given here, you can easily keep up your baby book for all of your childen.
1. Go Bit by Bit
A baby record book is usually created one small section at a time. When was the first doctor office visit? When were the first steps taken? When did you first feed them cereal? What was the first word spoken? What was their weight and height at the 6 month check up?The best way to get all of that data for your baby book is to write it down as it happens. I promise you... if you wait until you've got your record book in your hands to get starting figuring out when things happened, you'll give up in about 30 seconds.
Get a Notebook
Already got your baby record book ready to use? You'll still want to carry around a baby notebook. Why? Because recording these dates and artifacts is hard when the book you're writing this in is the only copy. How can you take the time write this data in beautiful handwriting with all you have going on?But if you use a notebook, you can jot things down as they happen, and take the time to write them in your baby book later.
2. Do it Later

Another good way to make keeping a baby's year book a bit easier is to do it at the end of the year. Go along jotting down things that interest you, and recording momentous events with your new baby.
After a Year. After the first year is up, take everything you've seen and all the photos you've taken, and assemble them into a digital photo "Baby's First Year" book. Lots of photo book printers offer this kind of baby book. They have a particularly nice "Baby's First Year" book at Shutterfly.com.
3. Keep it Digital
Sometimes, getting everything together to make a hard copy baby record book is just too much trouble. You're a new Mom, after all... you've got enough on your plate as it is.For many mothers, it can just be simpler to use your digital photos and make a baby record DVD. It'll have all kinds of tidbits and information about the baby, tons of great photos... but without ever having to write it all out or get it printed.
Again, Shutterfly.com tends to be a good choice for this. They have a PhotoShow DVD product that works great for showing off your baby photos or baby record book, but without needing a hard copy. It's also a good way to share your baby photos with the family without having to invest in a dozen expensive digital baby photo books.
