DigiLabs' Photo Book Options

DigiLabs offers three distinctly different types of photo books:

Ashbury - Lay Flat Pages, Custom Cover, Matte or Glossy Pages and printed on 100# card stock (about 2-3 times thicker than the paper used in the other two books).

Fillmore - Custom Cover, Matte or Glossy Pages and printed on 100 lb. stock paper.

Portola - Leatherette Cover, Uncoated Pages and printed on 100 lb. stock paper.

DigLab's Photo Book Software

Each type of photo book created online with DigiLabs uses the same software. The software is an 87 MB download that you can use for free if you have DigiLabs print your books, or you can purchase the software and print it for free at home. The Non-Commercial version can be used to print directly to an attached printer or network printer and is $29.99. The Commercial version will allow you to export your project as a PDF or as JPEG formatted files along with printing them and is $349.99.

Editing Flexibility. I am so happy that I was updating my Digilabs photo book review because I forget how much I love this software. The software is very flexible and any page layout can be created with it. The "Perfectly Clear" image editing works very well on dark or blurry pictures. Creating a two-page spread was a snap - all you do is drag the desired picture onto a page anywhere there is not a picture frame. You will then see a pop-up menu with the first choice being: "Two-page Spread Background." Could not be any easier. With the two-page spread being created as a background, you have the choice to add photos over the picture.

After saving your book, there is a list showing items that need to be completed when you re-open the project. The option to change the order of the pages before you order the book is also available.

DigLab's Customer Support

I found their Tips and Tricks section to be very helpful and support is offered either through e-mail or phone. I've found any queries to their customer service line to be fairly prompt (generally within 24 hours) and very professional. Generous volume discounts are also available for higher-volume customers.
